Pupils across the RGS Guildford family of schools have been exploring the fascinating world of deserts through a creative postcard exchange that connected young learners across countries, cultures and continents. As part of a shared curriculum topic, RGS Prep pupils exchanged beautifully designed postcards with students from RGS Guildford International schools, creating an exciting opportunity to learn from one another while developing their geographical knowledge and communication skills. The project forms part of the wider commitment to global collaboration across the RGS family.
The desert-themed exchange encouraged pupils to investigate some of the world’s most remarkable arid environments, from the vast sand dunes of the Middle East to other desert regions around the globe. Through colourful illustrations, handwritten messages and carefully researched facts, students shared what they had learned about desert landscapes, wildlife, climate and the ways people adapt to life in challenging environments.
The postcards showcased impressive creativity and curiosity.
