In celebration of Global Wellbeing Day, RGS Dubai recently hosted a special edition of its roundtable podcast series, focusing on the theme of “Global Connections.” The episode brought together voices from across the RGS family, highlighting the strength and authenticity of the partnership between RGS Dubai and its founding school, RGS Guildford in the UK.
The podcast featured a heartfelt and insightful conversation with former RGS Dubai students who have since transitioned to RGS Guildford UK. Their reflections offered a unique perspective on the shared values, culture and educational ethos that unite the two schools, despite being thousands of miles apart.
Max, a Year 10 student, shared how his move to the UK campus has been smooth and positive. “The transition has been easy because the brand image is the same,” he explained that he’s used to being around and respecting a wide range of cultures, so settling in felt natural. His comments underscored the global mindset fostered at RGS Dubai, which prepares students to thrive in diverse environments.
Also joining the conversation were brothers Thomas (Year 5) and Henry (Year 2), now attending RGS Prep in the UK. They echoed Max’s sentiments, noting that the familiar house system, along with the shared values and learning habits, made their adjustment seamless. “It feels like the same school, just in a different location,” they said, a statement that resonated deeply with the podcast’s theme.
This sense of continuity and cohesion between the two campuses is a testament to the strength of the RGS global network. The students’ experiences highlighted how the schools are not just connected by name, but by a shared commitment to excellence, character development and community.
The podcast also served as a celebration of the broader RGS vision – one that transcends borders and fosters a sense of belonging among students, no matter where they are in the world. By spotlighting real student voices, the episode brought to life the tangible benefits of a truly global education.
Global connections are not just about geography, but about shared values, mutual respect and a unified educational experience. The students’ stories demonstrated how RGS Dubai and RGS Guildford are building a cohesive, international learning community – one that supports student wellbeing and growth on a global scale.
