RGS Guildford recently held its inaugural Middle East Heads’ Forum in Dubai, marking a significant milestone in strengthening the relationship between the schools in the RGS Guildford family. This event underscored the school’s commitment to fostering global connections and enhancing educational excellence.
The forum began with a warm welcome and building a shared understanding of both the unique characteristics and common strengths of each RGS school in the Middle East. It was very clear that the RGS Guildford ethos – underpinned by its values – is at the heart of all our schools, with a shared commitment to academic excellence, personal development, and a well-rounded education.
Collaboration
A major highlight from the forum was the exciting opportunity for increased collaboration between our international schools to enhance the experience of all our students. This could include increased joint opportunities for physical visits, as well as a wide range of virtual activities to enhance cross-cultural learning and collaboration, such as joint participation in Model United Nations events. The schools’ leaders are excited at the prospect of fostering a global learning community which transcends geographical boundaries.
Sharing best practice between RGSGI Schools
Another key focus was on how each of our international schools can learn from each other to support continuous improvement. A number of examples were discussed, focussing in particular on ways of embedding the RGS Guildford ethos with students and parents, whilst integrating it effectively with the local culture and features of each school. We also explored options for helping staff to share RGS Guildford resources more easily between schools, to experience joint professional development, and to connect with each other on specific topics where beneficial.
The inaugural RGS Guildford Middle East Heads’ Forum was a resounding success, paving the way for future collaboration and reinforcing RGS Guildford’s position as a leader in global education.
