Last Term’s Activities Across the RGSG International Family

The past academic term has been one of achievement, creative collaboration and global connection across the RGS Guildford international family of schools. From world-class university success and elite sporting breakthroughs to positive inspections, cultural exchanges and leadership visits.

Global University Success in Nanjing

Academic achievement reached extraordinary heights at RGS Guildford Nanjing this term, with senior students securing over 100 offers from QS World Top 40 universities and achieving a 100% acceptance rate to Top 100 institutions worldwide. Offers arrived from some of the most prestigious universities globally, including the University of Cambridge, Princeton University, University College London, the London School of Economics, King’s College London, the Universities of Leeds and Edinburgh, and leading international institutions such as the University of Sydney.

These outcomes reflect not only the ambition and hard work of the students themselves, but also the strength of academic provision, university guidance and pastoral support underpinning the RGS Guildford educational model overseas.

Elite Sporting Achievement in Dubai

Sporting excellence was on full display at RGS Guildford Dubai, where two young pupils achieved remarkable milestones on an international stage. Eight-year-old Zayn signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Nike, becoming the youngest athlete in the brand’s global history. His achievement is a testament to the school’s ability to balance elite-level training with strong academic foundations.

Zayn’s sister, Zahra, also an RGS Guildford Dubai pupil, enjoyed an equally impressive term. Signed as a Nike MENA Football Athlete, Zahra earned call-ups to both the Iraqi U15 and UAE national teams, was scouted by Chelsea FC, and was awarded the Cognita Enrich Middle East Sports Personality of the Year. Together, their achievements exemplify how talent, opportunity and educational support combine to unlock extraordinary potential.

Celebrating Identity Through Film

The sense of shared heritage across the RGS family was captured on camera this term, as film company Affixxius completed production of a new promotional video for RGS Guildford Dubai. Filmed across both Dubai and Guildford, the project featured students from RGS Guildford UK, showcasied facilities and the enduring values of the founding school.

Quality Assurance and Cultural Celebration in Muscat

At RGS Guildford Muscat, the annual Quality Assurance Review (QAR) concluded on a high note with a vibrant Art and Music Festival, highlighting the creative talents of pupils across the school. The visit also included a meeting with respected local artist Sami Syabi, reinforcing the school’s strong cultural and community connections.

Leadership Connections in Qatar

Strengthening cross-campus relationships further, Mr Royds, International Education Director, visited RGS Guildford Qatar this term. Touring the campus with senior leaders and engaging directly with pupils, the visit provided valuable insight into the school’s dynamic learning environment. It also reinforced the close partnership between the RGS Guildford and our international schools that continues to drive shared standards and vision.

Connecting Classrooms Across Borders

Global citizenship continued with a postcard exchange between Year 1 pupils at RGS Prep and RGS Guildford Dubai. Children shared drawings, questions and reflections, gaining early insight into how environments and climates differ across the world.

Inspection Success in Qatar

The term concluded with further positive news for RGS Guildford Qatar, which received an “Effective” rating in the 2025 QNSA inspection. Inspectors highlighted the school’s clear vision and mission, noting their positive influence on teaching quality, learning experiences and pupil wellbeing.
