Students from the Royal Grammar School Guildford family of schools continue to strengthen their reputation as globally minded leaders through participation in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences around the world. These prestigious events provide students with the opportunity to develop diplomacy, public speaking, negotiation and critical thinking skills while engaging with some of the most pressing issues facing the international community.
Most recently, the RGSGQ Model United Nations delegation represented their school at the 14th edition of the Change the World Model UN 2026 conference in Rome. Held under the theme “Building the World: Food Security, Nutrition, and Sustainability for a Better Future,” the conference brought together hundreds of young delegates from across the globe to debate solutions to complex global challenges.
Set against the inspiring backdrop of Rome, where centuries of history intersect with modern international dialogue, RGSGQ students embraced the opportunity to step into the role of diplomats. Throughout the conference, they participated in dynamic committee sessions, delivered speeches, negotiated with fellow delegates and collaborated to draft resolutions addressing issues of food security and sustainable development.
The experience highlighted the value of international MUN programmes in preparing students for an increasingly interconnected world.
