RGS Guildford ranks among the UK’s top schools

RGS Guildford has been ranked as the number 4 independent boys’ school nationally in The Sunday Times’ Parent Power 2024 report.

An eagerly awaited publication for parents considering secondary school choices for their children, these ‘Parent Power’ tables rank schools on their average performance using A Level, GCSE and IB outcomes.

The RGS is consistently one of the top boys’ schools in the country at both A Level and GCSE according to the national league tables, and we are proud that this year’s Parent Power report is no different.  Ranked as the number 4 independent boys’ school nationally and number 23 of all independent schools throughout the country, the result affirms how RGS students fulfil their considerable potential by securing top grades in traditionally rigorous, robust subjects.

We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our students.  In 2023, the most common grade achieved by RGS Guildford students at A Level was the A* grade; 81 students achieved a clean sweep of grades at A or A*, 37 of those achieved 3 or more A* grades. These excellent foundations provide the springboard for our students to gain places annually on the most competitive courses at the leading universities in the UK and beyond. The RGS is also extremely proud of its Oxbridge record; in the last ten years over 250 offers have been achieved at Oxford and Cambridge.
